Survey Report on Current Integrity Practices in Business in Vietnam

On 29 Dec 2015, our participating organisation, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), launched a survey report on “Current Integrity in Business Status and Demands for Corporate Capacity Building Support” at a conference in Hanoi.

The survey covered 180 businesses operating in three major cities in Vietnam - Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City. The survey revealed that 55 per cent of respondents agree on the correct understanding of integrity. They believe that business integrity must include both individuals' and companies' behaviour in the business context which must conform to rules and standards generally accepted in commercial practices or legislated into laws to effectively prevent corruption.

Overall, between 92.78 per cent and 93.82 per cent of respondents agree on a common understanding of what transparency and the Code of Conduct in business entails overall. However, the consensus varies from sector to sector.
